Locally, church members support the Community Friendship Meal to neighbors in need, collect clothes and supplies for workers at the Bloomsburg Fair, and support neighbors after natural disasters. Nonperishable food items are collected year-round for the Bloomsburg Food Cupboard. We are a local depot for flood cleanup buckets. In November 2025, we partnered with local relief organization AGAPE to provide overnight winter shelter in the church's Education Wing for unhoused people if a Code Blue Event is declared by the Town of Bloomsburg.

First Presbyterian Church of Bloomsburg is committed to doing justice as a central part of our vision and mission. We advocate for equal and dignified treatment of all people because we believe every human is created in the image of God. Congregation members work on behalf of LGBTQ+ community members who face discrimination, immigrants and refugees being unfairly treated, people experiencing poverty, and on a range of eco-justice issues which affect us all. We are a member of More Light Presbyterians. In 2025 we were recertified as a PC(USA) Earth Care Congregation.
Ten percent of all donations given to First Presbyterian Church of Bloomsburg each year go to support local, national, and global efforts to do good in the world, including:
